To open a bank account in Japan, foreign residents must have a residence card (zairyu caado) to complete their application. With few exceptions, anyone on a 90-day tourist visa won’t be permitted to open a bank account in Japan.


Essentially, this means that only foreign residents with long-term visas (over 6 months) and those who have resided for longer than 6 months in Japan can apply.


Exceptions to this rule include opening a limited-type account that allows for cash deposits and withdrawals.

4. For non business management visa, when is eligible to apply?

If you had any other type of visa (other than the ones mentioned above), you can apply for Permanent Residency in Japan only after ten years of continuous residence. During this time, you must have had a Japan Work Visa for at least five consecutive years.

JapaneseConsulate (Ministry of Foreign Affair) will issue the visa according to the COE as the decision of the immigration office (Ministry of Law and Justice) .this is the procedure to be handled when the applicant does not have any long-term residence status in Japan, and it is called "application for delivery of the certificate of eligibility for residence" when applying for a new Japanese residence status (Japanese "residence status"). Through this application, when the Immigration Bureau determines that the content of the applicant's application meets the requirements, the document issued is the certificate of eligibility.

12. Do I need a proper business plan?

Your business will be assessed based on your business plan by the Immigration Bureau if it is deemed stable and sustainable. A business plan should contain a very detailed business management schedule and strategy. In addition to the company profile, business description, and profit and loss plan, it should include a vision for the future, customers and partnerships, suppliers, competitive analysis, sales strategy, and financial plan. All application documents must be submitted in Japanese.


13. Does the capital amount of setting up a business in Japan affect the validity of visa and PR application?

It does matter for work visa application as the company has to prove its financial power to pay the salary to the foreign worker. There is no hard and fast rule that will affect the permanent residence review, but from the perspective of the rationality and stability of the applicant's company business, of course, the more the better, but these are not only from The amount is considered, and it will also be considered comprehensively from various perspectives (business scale, income stability, etc., as well as the legality of the applicant's social insurance premiums, income tax, etc.).


14. When client eligible to apply for Permanent Residency?
